My farewell speech to VSA, on what leadership actually means, watching the people I helped lead now lead their own, and how everything VSA taught me carried into leading departments at Texas Cyber Range and building my own startup from nothing.

Years ago I stood at this exact same mic. Not as a leader, not as an intern, but as an MC, keeping time, reading names, holding the room together while a senior gave a speech exactly like this one. I remember thinking, i wonder what we'll say when it's my turn.
Well, here we are.
Four years of VSA, freshman to culture chair to watching the people i helped lead now lead their own, brought me back to that same mic to say what i actually learned. The rest is easier to just watch.
